2010 President's Message
We had a successful show on August 1st at the Diaz Ranch in Woodland. I can’t thank Tom Diaz enough for the extra effort he put in setting up an outside arena. The ground was terrific and everyone raved about how good the cattle were. We are working on providing an area with more shade for spectators. We had 81 works and Mike Warman did a great job taking care of the judge’s duties. Ron Koehne and Ron Campbell did a great job handling the cattle.
The next show is September 5th at the Diaz Ranch in Woodland. We will have Mexican cattle again for the next show and Tom thinks he may have enough to cover all over our remaining shows. We will be offering a 3 and 4 year old practice class if there is interest.
We have three shows left so there is plenty of time to get points towards our year-end awards. Remember you need five shows to qualify for year-end awards.
Our year is coming to a close and that means we will be having elections for Officers and Board members. If you are interested in serving on the Board please contact John Primasing or any Board member.
Our Awards banquet will be at the Blue Goose in Loomis on October 17th. We are looking for items for the silent auction. If you can donate an item please contact Jan Outman or dale Ann Hannum. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Be sure and get your tickets for the raffle for a Tom Block saddle sponsored by Valero Refinery and the Koehnes.
We know we are still in difficult economic times and we thank everyone who has stepped up to help sponsor our awards program. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please contact Sherry Hagemeier at (530) 852-2931 or any Board member. We are a non-profit and any donation is appreciated.
Please check our web page www.GCCHA.com for current information and your entries can be sent to Cheryl at CherylTilton@comcast.net.
See you at the next show.
Jim Tilton, President
