2011 President's Message
We had two great days at the Diaz Ranch on September 3rd and 4th to finish out our 2011 Show Season. We had 82 works on Saturday the 3rd and 66 works on Sunday the 4th. Lonnie Weaver did a great job handling the judging duties. Thanks to Ron Campbell for taking care of the cattle and for Donkey J’s for providing the great sandwiches. One of the highlights was the Never-Won-A-Buckle class.
Congratulations
to Janis Howard for winning her first buckle and thanks to Dave
Brymer for sponsoring the buckle.
We had a fun afternoon on September 11 at our Awards Banquet at the
Sacramento Horseman’s Association (SHA) Clubhouse. Jan Outman
did a great job as Chairperson of our Awards Banquet Committee. The
Awards Committee (Dale Ann Hannum, Tracy Hart, and Cassie
Comella) did a super job with the awards. Thanks to all of our many
sponsors that help us put on such a good awards program. Congratulations to all of the winners. A special congratulations to our Top Ten
Horse, Montanas Chick owned by Jody Gray; Open Saddle winner, Uno
Mas Sunday owned by Laola Simmons; Non-pro Saddle winner Easter
Safari owned by Tracy Hart; and the Amateur Saddle winner, SDP
Spattin Cat, owned by DeAnn Johnson. If you were not at the banquet
and did not make arrangements to pick up your awards you should
contact Dale Ann Hannum at 645-1102.
I want to thank the 2011 Board of Directors and all of those that have
served on the GCCHA Board with me over the last ten years. GCCHA
is a great association and it only works because of the dedication of
its members who are willing take their turn serving on the Board. I
know Lee Livingston, President and the 2012 GCCHA Board of Directors is already working on making 2012 a successful year. Thanks for
allowing me to serve on the Board.
